The Organic Asia Congress (OAC) is a biennial event of the IFOAM Asia which aims to encourage all stakeholders to share their knowledge and strengthen development strategy in organic agriculture in Asia. OAC has been held 3 times, namely in South Korea, China and the Philippines. In 2021, Indonesia has the opportunity to host the 4th OAC and will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The 4th OAC is hosted by IFOAM Asia with Indonesia Organic Alliance as main partner, and supported by a consortium consisting of Bina Swadaya Foundation, KEHATI Foundation and Arla Indofood.
The 4th OAC with the theme of “Asia Go Organic For A Healthier Planet!”, expresses the importance of organic agriculture during and post COVID-19 pandemic. Also, 4th OAC is in conjunction with the Organic Youth Forum, Organic Expo and ALGOA Indonesia Forum.
The Organic Asia Congress (OAC) brings forth the local governments and the organic sector together in different countries in Asia to discuss the major trends in organic agriculture and to discuss ways to move the sector forward. It is one of the biggest organic events in the world, with hundreds of foreign experts, researchers, scientists, stakeholders and like-minded organizations gather in a week-long event.

The 4th OAC will most probably be a hybrid event with physical attendance depending on the coming months’ COVID-19 situation. The 4th OAC are welcoming foreign and Indonesian Speaker to present their research or experience of practices related to organic agriculture and include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Climate Change (Carbon Sequestration, Carbon Neutral, etc.)
- Biodiversity and Natural Resources Management
- Poverty Alleviation and Food Security
- Government Policies and the role of local governments
- Best Practices (Value chain, Technology, Innovations including Indigenous Knowledge)
- New Trends (Organic Parenting, Veganism, etc.)
- Non-Food Sector in Organic Agriculture (Textiles, Cosmetics, etc.)
- Social Inclusivity (Youth, Women, Marginalized Groups, Indigenous People, etc.)
- Organic Food in the New Normal
The 4th OAC will consist of main plenary session and parallel session in smaller group/room. There will be keynote speaker as well as other invited and selected experts speaker for each sessions. The main plenary will be focus on below topics:

During the 4th Organic Asia Congress (OAC), IFOAM Asia will launch “Women in Organic Agriculture in Asia (WOAA), a platform to promote, engage and address the role and contribution of women in organic agriculture.
